Through the magic of the internet -- the browser always knowing what you want -- you find yourself clicking on a profile oozing in silver studs and need-able jackets. You wonder who could this dashing rouge be? And then you realize, it’s Do Hanse from the indelible group VICTON! This fresh aura strikes a familiar figure to those who have been following him closely, namely ALICE’s, the name for VICTON’s stalwart supporters.

He was among the original lineup for the ultra smooth group since 2016. And the last two years, his solo expedition has been flying high with the release of his debut album Blaze. And it did just that - blaze! With its uber entrancing visuals, it presents a spread of hiphop flavor, but also was the first burgeoning hints at an interest in acrobatic guitar, power chords, and anything else that would feel at home in a Warped Tour lineup or the greater pop-punk empire of the mid ‘aughts. Pressing play on the mini-albums and singles that soon followed, listeners were treated to Do Hanse’s take on energetic angst-driven micro-operas. Songs like “Gummy Bear” for instance evoke a sugary-sweet day-mare, and continues his penchant for crafting trippy music videos. And just this past October, saw the release of the two piece album Misery Loves Company. The vibeable melody of “Waterfall” compliments “Hello and Goodbye” which sneaks up with its instantly catchy refrain that would be perfect to motivate a crowd anthem.

His time in VICTON, he was primarily known as the group’s rapper, showcasing an impressive word per minute count. With his newly found solo career, he’s been able to spotlight different sides of his musical ambition. Like Beyonce doing country, or Lady Gaga multi-classing with a couple of jazz albums, their unique perspective on a new genre is liberating and exciting! The freedom to fully jump into another auditory realm brings about a whole new paradigm of his abilities. And right now, he's the Cheshire Cat leading us towards a rock 'n roll punk Wonderland!

The start of the new year saw him touring his exuberant live performances to Brazil for the first time! With hopefully more international dates soon to follow :)

We had the pleasure of speaking with Do Hanse ahead of his concert, and are excited to share this interview with you!

1.You’re so talented! How did you become so musical before you started as a trainee? Do you have a musical family? Did you study it in school? :)

:) I've loved dancing since I was young. As a result, I naturally wanted to do music. And there are no musicians in my family.

2.Can you tell us about the ideas that sparked the inspiration for your new solo music and its very cool punk sound & direction?

:) I originally liked rock music too.

The idea is to try to do everything you want to do as much as possible. I think that's why I started doing band music naturally.

But I will also do other genres of music.

3.Pop-up fashion game! :) Someone is putting together an outfit with their favorite white t-shirt. How would you style it?

:) Wide jeans, Converse or Vans

4.Next year you’re heading off to Brazil for your first fanmeet there! :) Can you tell us some of the things you’re looking forward to while there? It’s such a beautiful country, what were some of your inspirations in choosing this location? Do you think you’ll be singing? Are you expecting a lot of people? :)

:) I want to feel the passion of Brazilian fans. I think Brazil is a hot and passionate country. I want to have fun performing, feel Brazil with my own body, experience it, and come back.

5.Who or what are some of your style inspirations?

:) MGK, Yung Blud, GD, Avril Lavigne, Sum41.. there are more, though I can't think of them right now

6.What is something that people would be surprised to know about you? :)

:) I don't think there's anything in particular, I'm the type of person who talks honestly when communicating with fans, so I don't think there's anything surprising.

7.I remember your more hiphop influenced album Blaze and really loving it, and now you’re back with a with a brand new look and style! :) Where did you learn to be so diverse?

:) I listened to a lot of hip-hop and rock music since I was young, so I think it just came about naturally.

8.With K-pop becoming more global, what would you suggest to someone who’d be interested in joining the kpop industry, either as a singer, musician, set designer, etc?

:) I think I've moved away from the K-pop scene. And I want to get out of the K-pop scene and go into a different scene, because I want to feel something new. But the truth is, I don't care where I am, I want to be a person who is good at everything

9.Can you share some of the things that motivate your songwriting? :)

:) Things I have to do, things I want to do, routines in life,

I don't really have anything that motivates me because it feels like this. It just seems like a part of my life. It's not all about the music.

10.On the song Blue Nights, you perform with a whole band, and it gives it a really dynamic feeling! :) What was it like bringing together a band on this song?

:) The band members are actually my friends.

They're the same age as me, and they're bassists, guitarists and music producers. They gladly accepted my offer to help me out. And I've also made a lot of my music (Gummy Bear, How Time Flies, etc).

They are talented producers who wrote many famous songs in the K-pop scene. I'm thankful for them. It was fun.

11.You have so many awesome collaborators across your songs and albums, such as musicians BigOne and Dive! :) You all seem really close! Can you tell us a bit about your continued partnership?

:) The Dial Music as a company is gone.

But I think The Dial Music will remain as a crew

12.We hear your fan name is Remi, is there a certain meaning behind this name?

My last name is "DO", So the fans filling in next to me are "REMI"

13.Favorite movie?:)

:) I like the Harry Potter series, It's a memory from my childhood

14.Must have item for traveling?

:) Air conditioner, if I have to go somewhere without air conditioner, I will just stay at home.

15.Someone surprises you with lunch. What would be the best surprise? What would be the worst?

:) If the food is good, I feel good. If the food is bad, I feel bad.

It's simple
